To Bask In The Sweetness of Summer
Thank you, Summer, for what you bring us every year
the warmth of you on my skin,
the sweetness of fruit and flowers flowing in the breeze,
fresh evening walks under a pink sky,
with moments of connection, of peace,
and a different relationship with time.
To bask in your sweetness is to surrender
to a new rhythm of being
warm mornings, birds singing, and light shining through the leaves,
picking fruit in the field at two in the afternoon,
losing myself in the presence of it,
and coming home to bake it into something sweet.
You remind me, year after year,
it was never about the temperature.
It's about permission to feel free.
More time. More connection.
More room for creativity and curiosity to bloom.
Underneath it all, you're planting a feeling
into the soil I can't yet see,
the beginning of a garden
for things not yet grown,
not yet lived,
not yet imagined.
Summer, you represent more than a season.
You represent the sweetness of what is yet to come.
